The 1st of July we played two concerts at Tokyo Opera City (Omi Gakudo), and it happened to be also my birthday. Certainly, it was the happiest Birthday I ever had. The encore knocked me down! It started as a Corelli Sarabande, one of the most beautiful in an entire baroque repertoire, but ended as "Happy Birthday to you" in a form of Sarabande in Corelli's style which the colleagues composed in a train the day before the concert. When the Sarabande turned into "Happy Birthday", I thought I must have mistaken the repeat. I thought, "Oh, no! Not now! Not in the encore piece!" I tried desperately to pick up my bass line somewhere, and finally gave up... with a big smile. Only then I realised they were playing "Happy Birthday". Thank you for the most unforgetabble Birthday present!

I am very grateful for the chance to hear these works by Corelli all at once. I have never heard the theorbo in the Basso Continuo and that was very interesting. The talk was interesting indeed, for example, the passage about the language and the rhythm. The players’ talk was really persuasive.

2009年7月26日にインターナショナル・バロック・ジュテイム・クラブ・東京にて行われたランデヴー・バロックは、多くの点において特別な演奏会となりました。
プログラムの音楽の部分では、日本ではまだほとんど知られていない作曲家ジョヴァンニ・マリア・ボノンチーニに焦点を当て、イタリア モデナの大聖堂にて高く称賛されたヴァイオリニスト、ジョヴァンニ・マリアが1666年、24歳の時に出版した曲集より４つのソナタを演奏しました。彼は後に、高名なボローニャのアカデミア・フィルハーモニアのメンバーとなっています。
らにははっきりとした共通点があります。この２人の作曲家は、ローマの文学Accademia degli Arcadi から生まれた美学に、明らかな影響を受けています。このアカデミア会員は和声の簡潔さ、感情の明確さ、そして純粋さを奨励しました。それらの特性は確かにボノンチーニ、そして特にアルカンジェロ・コレッリの作品の中に息づいています。
